Xtend-Quinol offers a unique combination of ubiquinol and geranylgeraniol (GG). As the active form of CoQ10, ubiquinol is a key player in cellular energy production, while GG - a building block of CoQ10 - further supports mitochondrial and skeletal muscle health. In short, Xtend-Quinol is ubiquinol with a functionally distinctive edge, making it the perfect supplement to support those struggling with the problems associated with aging or the side effects of statin use.
Aches, pains and decreased strength can be the result of pathways becoming blocked by statins and the aging process. Xtend-Quinol unblocks these pathways and gets you back to a healthy normal.
Xtend-Quinol fuels the body with Ubiquinol, the active form of CoQ10 to revitalise cells and amplify your energy. At the same time, it supplies GG, the building block for your body to create its own CoQ10.
CoQ10 is a key player in the production of ATP, the substance that makes energy for your cells.
Taking statins reduces CoQ10 production in the body. That's why it’s important for statin users to take a CoQ10 supplement.
CoQ10 helps generate energy for cells particularly the heart. Research shows supplementation with CoQ10 reduces serious cardiac events.
CoQ10 levels decline with age; supplementation can help resupply energy and support against the problems of aging.
CoQ10 is a powerful antioxidant, it also stops the oxidation of the "bad" LDL cholesterol and helps protect against atherosclerosis.
CoQ10 is produced naturally by the body and is essential for the health of all organs, particularly the heart. Unfortunately, production of CoQ10 declines with age and taking medications such as statins.¹ This coincides with an increase in conditions ranging from heart disease, type 2 diabetes and cancer.²
There are different forms of CoQ10, ubiquinol and ubiquinone. We use Ubiquinol (that’s where the name Xtend-Quinol came from), which is the most common form found in the body and more importantly is up to 70% more bioavailable (better absorbed) than ubiquinone.
Xtend-Quinol uses an ingredient called DuoQuinol®, which is a new frontier in CoQ10 supplements. It has a double action when it comes to CoQ10: It supplies the body with ubiquinol for immediate use, and also with GG, to stimulate the body’s own production of CoQ10.
The good news is that supplementation can replace what your body can’t produce, and this can help heart patients. Today, approximately 45% of cardiologists recommend CoQ10 to their patients – more than double that of other supplements⁴.
CoQ10’s demonstrated effects for heart health are striking. With benefits ranging from heart failure treatment to blood pressure improvement, CoQ10 supplementation is a must for cardiovascular well-being.
Geranylgeraniol (GG) is the raw fuel for some of our bodies most important processes. Very few people other than some scientists and well-informed Doctors are aware of this substance.
It plays a vital role in the mevalonate metabolic pathway– the series of chemical reactions in our bodies to support:
Providing cellular energy through the production of CoQ10
Allocation of calcium into the bones and teeth instead of the soft tissues and arteries.
Protein Prenylation which is essential to avoid excessive muscle atrophy.
GG plays an important role in the synthesis of testosterone.
GG is produced naturally by the body and is essential for the health of all organs, particularly the heart, bones and muscles. Unfortunately, as with CoQ10, the production of GG declines with age and taking medications such as statins.
Researchers have been excited to discover how supplementing with GG can help with the side-effects of statins. In one study, GG completely protected the muscles from statin problems. It not only prevented statin-induced muscle tiredness, but results suggested that GG helps the heart muscle contract (to pump blood more efficiently) and improved vasorelaxation (widening the blood vessels to improve blood flow).⁵
Statins are effective at reducing the body's ability to produce cholesterol. Unfortunately, they do this by interfering with the Mevalonate pathway, which is essential for many of the body's essential processes.
Many doctors recommend CoQ10 to help with statin-related problems, and there's no doubt that it's better known than GG.
But while CoQ10 is vital for energy and restoring fatigue, one thing it can't always correct is statin-induced muscle pain (myalgia) and weakness (myopathy), which develops due to GG deficiency⁶. By taking a supplement with both CoQ10 and GG, your body benefits from a more complete solution.
To get the maximum benefits of GG and CoQ10 supplement, you need to have it in the form the body is best placed to use. Xtend-Quinol uses a unique absorption technology that puts it ahead of other products. It uses GG as a way of naturally dissolving ubiquinol and stopping it from recrystallizing, keeping it bioavailable, so your body can absorb and produce maximum levels of CoQ10.
Dr. Tan first learned about GG in the 1990s researching the annatto plant during his work on tocotrienols and vitamin E and is responsible for showing the close link between GG and CoQ10.
"CoQ10 is synthesized as an essential nutrient within our body to spark energy production. The fact that statin decimates CoQ10 production is well known, but it is less known that this effect on CoQ10 levels is fueled by the inhibition of GG, an intrinsic constitutional structure of CoQ10."

It’s a fact that as we get older or take medications our bodies become less efficient at producing the substances we need itself, and absorbing them from the food we eat.
Xtend-Quinol is designed to manage these causes of aging, providing direct energy in the form of Ubiquinol (CoQ10) and supplying GG so your body can get back to a healthy normal.

Our view is a resounding yes. But when you have any condition you should get your doctor's OK before commencing on any supplement regimen.
There is no evidence to suggest taking Xtend-Quinol would cause a problem for someone with stents. However, you should consult your doctor prior to starting Xtend-Quinol.
This was the main factor in developing this product. It should not affect the ability of your statin to lower cholesterol. However, you should always consult your doctor prior, if you are taking any medications.
While there is no evidence to suggest adverse interactions with medications, you should consult your doctor prior to starting any new supplement, especially if you take blood thinners.
Xtend-Quinol contains two ingredients, GG and ubiquinol.
GG will not help with your cholesterol as it is downstream in the biochemical (mevalonate) pathway.
Ubiquinol has a role to play in cholesterol management because it dwells in LDL particles. LDL is “bad” cholesterol, but it is oxidized LDL (oxLDL) that is particularly atherogenic (likely to cause plaques in the blood vessels). Ubiquinol’s presence in LDL particles ensures that progression to oxLDL is prevented. Beyond its antioxidant capabilities, vital role in cellular energy production, and advanced bioavailability, numerous research studies support ubiquinol supplementation for heart health.
If you are breastfeeding or pregnant, please consult your doctor before taking Xtend-Quinol.
Geranylgeraniol (GG) is a substance that is made in the human body via a biochemical pathway called the mevalonate pathway. This is the same biochemical pathway that makes cholesterol, CoQ10, dolichol and Heme A.
GG is extracted from the Annatto plant (Bixa Orellana) using a clean (no solvents) extraction process.
There are no known side effects published in the literature.
As the reduced form of Coenzyme Q10 and the main component of Xtend-Quinol, ubiquinol is a powerful antioxidant, the only one known to be made naturally by the body. It protects the mitochondria from oxidative stress, and is a key player in the process responsible for ATP energy production. Cellular energy is particularly important for organs with high metabolic activity, such as the heart. This in part is why ubiquinol is beneficial to the heart, protecting not only from lipid peroxidation, but also improving heart function directly.
The main reason is bioavailability - the body cannot easily absorb CoQ10. Studies have shown taking ubiquinol is two or more times as effective at raising CoQ10 levels than taking CoQ10 directly as a supplement.
The ‘normal’ CoQ10 is called Ubiquinone which is oxidized. The body has to convert it to the non-oxidized form called Ubiquinol in order to use it. The advantage of using the non-oxidized Ubiquinol form is that it is 5 – 8 times more potent than the other form.
Xtend-Quinol supplies the body with ubiquinol, the best fuel for the body to make its own CoQ10, but one of the main attributes that sets Xtend-Quinol apart is its ability to stimulate the body’s own CoQ10 production via a molecule called geranylgeraniol (GG). The GG molecule is built into the same pathway the body uses to produce energy, and is an actual building block of CoQ10.
